Youngsters met colourful creatures from the deep after coming face to face with dazzling fish, sharks and stingrays.
The trip to Great Yarmouth’s Sea Life Centre was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
It was for little ones and parents from the charity’s Child Support Group and three families enjoyed the summer outing on 6th August.
Among the highlights, they were able to get close to the centre’s largest inhabitants, while walking through its amazing ocean tunnel.
“It was a magical day and everyone had a lovely time, being able to wander round in their own time,” said EACH Play Specialist Heidi Foster.
“The staff were wonderful, didn’t charge us for our visit and were very accommodating at giving however many free tickets we needed.
“Trips of this nature are always fun, but the most important thing is that they give families a chance to mix and connect.
“For instance, one new family, who had been quite nervous about coming, had the chance to chat with another that has been receiving support for many years.
“It really helped and gave the new family more confidence to get involved and ask questions when they came to our fun day the following Sunday.
“That, in essence, is what our events are all about and why we put them on.”
The Child Support Group is for babies and pre-schoolers currently receiving care, or unable to attend school because of their health.
The group meets once a month and there is usually a theme. Children have the chance to enjoy a sensory experience, stories and music together.
