David Gould, aged 64 from Ipswich, has been volunteering for the EACH fundraising team for around five years and is responsible for more than 150 collection pots across the county.
David explained: “I started volunteering for EACH when I took early retirement and I needed to fill the void that going from full time work to a life of leisure had left! I started by just collecting pots in Felixstowe and gradually took on other parts of the county. I’m now responsible for more than 150 pots, so I go around at least once a year to collect and replace them - sometimes more often if needed”
“I also enjoy helping out at various EACH events be it bucket collections, manning a stall at fetes or carnivals, that kind of thing.
“I have many memories from my time so far with EACH but the one that sticks in my memory has to be when the Duchess of Cambridge came to do her first solo speech at the opening of The Treehouse hospice. Although I wasn’t lucky enough to meet her, to be a few feet away when she gave her first solo public speech was such a memorable experience.”
