“The parents and carers lead busy lives so it was a golden opportunity to pause, unwind and recharge batteries” – parents and carers enjoy a soothing pamper evening at The Nook

Parents and carers took a well-earned breather while enjoying an evening of manicures and massages.

The soothing session was organised by East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) at The Nook, in Framingham Earl.

It was for mums, dads and family members who are either bereaved or have a child receiving care.

Four Center Parcs therapists came along and as well as filing and polishing nails, they offered arm, hand, shoulder and back massages.

Fifteen people enjoyed the pamper session and the lighting was dimmed to create an ambient atmosphere.

“It was a lovely evening and wonderful to see everyone relaxing and enjoying each other’s company,” said EACH Play Specialist Clare Oakley.

“The parents and carers lead busy lives so it was a golden opportunity to pause, unwind and recharge batteries.

“These evenings also give them a chance to socialise, meet new people and make friends, which is so important.”

Four volunteers were on hand to lend their support, serving refreshments and helping the event run smoothly, ensuring everyone got to their treatment on time.

The pamper evening took place on Thursday, 4th April and two more are being planned for later in the year, again at The Nook.
