We are delighted to launch our appeal to raise £87,500 so we can roll out our EACH Help at Home service across Cambridgeshire... and we need your support!
The Cambridge Independent has very kindly pledged to assist us in our aim so look out for updates on the appeal in its weekly paper. You can also see the updates as PDF's here:
The aim of EACH Help at Home, already up and running in Suffolk, is to link a caring individual to a family to provide practical support such as cooking, driving, cleaning and gardening.
The type of help needed will vary. For some people it might be maintaining the garden, for others help with a one-off job that would just never get done otherwise.
The service is needed because caring for a child with complex care needs or a serious illness can be physically and emotionally draining, taking a huge amount of time – which is more precious than anything to families.
Money raised by the Cambridge Independent and supporters will be spread evenly over the first 3 years of the service. Most importantly, it will fund the training, travel and ongoing support of approximately 45 volunteers and a volunteer coordinator.
To donate to the appeal:
- Go to our Virgin Money Giving page
- Drop off cash or cheques – made payable to EACH – to the charity’s Milton office at 42 High Street (CB24 6DF), clearly indicating your donation is for the Cambridge Independent appeal.
- Set yourself a personal challenge and get your family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you. You could run a marathon, do a bike ride, swim or parachute jump, shave your head or do a sponsored silence.
- Organise a fundraising event such as a quiz night, music gig, bingo or even a ball.
