“We’re proud of our stock and this is a fun way to show off some of the wonderful, high-quality donations” – staff and volunteers are taking to the catwalk for a fashion show

Charity shop staff and volunteers are strutting their stuff and taking to the catwalk for a special fashion show. The event is taking place at the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) store in Colchester High Street on Saturday, 5th August.

Among those looking the part will be Manager Sammy Mauldin and Deputy Suzanne Baker. They will be joined by volunteers to model some of the shop’s summer stock.

“We’ve never done anything like this before and I’m sure we’ll have plenty of giggles,” said Sammy.

“Everyone’s going to model at least two outfits – casual summer wear and also smarter, more upmarket evening wear. We’re creating a catwalk in the shop and it’s going to be a real community event, which hopefully sparks extra sales.

“It’s nice to organise something that draws people to our beautiful shop. We hope they like what they see and staging an event of this nature is a great way of raising awareness, letting people know who we are and what we do.”

The fashion show is taking place between 12pm and 2pm, although there will also be live music and entertainment before and after. Sammy believes new customers will be impressed by the quality of stock in the Colchester shop.

“We have so many lovely items on our rails and that’s why we decided to do something different and showcase it in this way,” she said.

“We’re proud of our summer stock and this is a fun way to show off some of the wonderful, high-quality donations.”
