Save the date and bring your singing voices for EACH’s carol service in Saffron Walden

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!

Get ready for a festive feast of music when the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) carol service takes place in Saffron Walden.

The feelgood event is being held at Saffron Walden Baptist Church, in High Street, on Tuesday, 14th December and will start at 7pm.

Charlotte Griggs, EACH Community Fundraising Assistant for Cambridgeshire and West Essex, said: “Christmas will be here before we know it and what better way to get in the mood than by attending our carol service.

“They’re always very special events and, after missing out last year, we’re particularly excited about this year’s celebrations.

“We hope as many people as possible come along and join in the festive fun, bringing their smiling faces and best singing voices.”

Everyone is welcome to the magical family service and a retiring collection will be taken to raise funds for EACH, which provides care and support for children, young people and their families across East Anglia.

Guests will have the chance to join in with traditional carols and hear some heartfelt readings – guaranteed to get everyone in the festive spirit.

“The support of those living in our communities at events such as these is absolutely vital to our work,” added Charlotte.

“It helps us to continue providing care and support to children, young people and families at an unimaginably hard time in their lives.

“Please do come along to celebrate with us as this special time of year. We look forward to seeing you there for some festive fun.”

Please note this event will be subject to current COVID guidelines. It is suggested face masks are worn while entering and leaving, and hand sanitiser will be available. Windows and doors will be kept open during the service so please wrap up warm!

Anyone wishing to attend should RSVP to community@each.org.uk or call 01223 800800 (option two).

Notes to Editors

“To need to use a children’s hospice is every parent’s worst nightmare, however, when you get there it’s the most beautiful place imaginable. It’s a lifeline to parents going through the worst possible journey and enables families to find the support that they need.”

  • We care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk, and support their families.
  • We offer families flexibility and control over where they receive their care and support, including where their child dies – at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton (Cambridge), The Nook (Norfolk) and The Treehouse (Ipswich).
  • Our family-centred approach includes specialist nursing care, symptom management support, short breaks, wellbeing activities, therapies and counselling, all meeting the individual needs of the child, young person and whole family.
  • We are recognised as leaders in our field, with a reputation for excellence and commitment to pioneering development and innovation.
  • We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income and this year need to raise £5.5 million from fundraising and £5.4 million in income from our shops. The year before the pandemic we received just 16% of our total income from statutory sources.
  • EACH Royal Patron – Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.
