AXA UK have been fantastic supporters of EACH for many years. While they have fundraised through family walks and bake sales, their regular and enthusiastic volunteering has made an untold difference to our shops and campaigns.
Recently two teams of Ipswich-based staff supported our Ipswich and Felixstowe Shops in a head-to-head stock and sales challenge. The teams managed to get over 300 items of clothing out onto the shop floor. Hazel Dee, the Felixstowe Shop Manager, actually lost count!
While they were there they also held a bake sale and put up new rails outside the Felixstowe shop so that Hazel can now sell more stock to support children, young people and families across East Anglia.
Rechenda Smith, Ipswich Shop Manager, recognised AXA UK from when they donated 63 bags of goods as well as a garden strimmer and a bike. This was a result of signing up to our popular ‘Bag it, Bring it, Boost it’ scheme and asking staff to donate any unwanted clothes, toys, books or bric-a-brac.
Rechenda was overwhelmed and thrilled and said, “AXA UK is already a supporter and it is really exciting that they have extended their support to help our charity shops. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their time with us. We always need volunteers so hopefully we can arrange something similar again soon! Every item in the shop really does make a difference - for example, the sale of a top, skirt or pair of trousers worth £5 could pay for art supplies for a session of art therapy.”
