Cambridgeshire Colour Dash 2016

Cambridgeshire Colour Dash 2016

Name: Peter Law

Phone: 01223 205198

Due to popular demand this event is now sold out!

It’s all happening at King's, Ely, on Saturday August 13, starting at 11am.

Run, walk or jog the 5K route, but be prepared to be showered in coloured powder paint by our pirates at paint stations along the way!

The route is almost entirely within the grounds of the school (there’s a small section on a public footway) – there are no public roads involved – so it’s a great course not just for more serious runners but families with smaller children and friends out for a chat.

If you’re a regular runner, we expect you’ll be back first, ready for the colour party where those taking part can throw paint powder into the air in unison as their antics get coverage on Facebook.

From the warm-up to the colour party and beyond you’ll have a great time  – and at the same time you’ll be raising much-needed funds for EACH and its work with children who have life-threatening conditions at our hospice in Milton.

What’s more, if your friends and family want to come along to throw powdered paint at you (surely, they wouldn’t miss the chance) they can sign up with us to be paint pirates on the day, or volunteer marshals if they don’t want to get quite so messy! Ask them to contact Sophie:

But… if you’re up for the colour dash itself, why not sign up now and take advantage of our early bird offer. Just click through now for REGISTRATION and more details.

Fancy taking part in the Colour Dash but not a keen runner? How about becoming a Paint Pirate for the day? Sponsor a Paint Station for £100 and you and 5 colleagues/friends can act as Paint Pirates for the event.  This involves manning a paint station en route and showering runners as they pass with the powder paint. Your company can also have signage visible at the start/finish line and shout outs will be given out during the event by our compere.   For more information please contact Sophie Baker by email or telephone 01223 204 916

Our thanks go to LG Car Sales, of Littleport, near Ely, who are supporting the EACH Cambridgeshire Colour Dash 2016 – by providing a stack of car seat covers so that when participants are covered in paint powder at the end of the event they can get home without getting it all over their car seats – and incurring the wrath of their other halves! LG Car Sales, of Saxon Business Park, Littleport, also have an associate company providing car maintenance services, selling exhausts, cambelts, tyres, batteries and other products.

  • It’s been a great opportunity to meet other parents in a similar situation, something that doesn't really happen anywhere else. Helen, William’s mum
  • We are also supported by the 24/7 True Colours nurses and it’s so reassuring knowing we can call on them whenever we need support or advice Helen, William’s mum
  • We arrived at the hospice feeling scared and alone. We had so many questions – they answered them all and more. Claire, Jacob’s mum
  • EACH supports families when they’re at their absolute lowest, helping them to come to terms with their child’s illness, losing them and beyond Brad, Stanley's Dad
  • EACH has helped us keep Stanley’s memory alive. And allows us to look to the future Brad, Stanley's Dad
  • I didn’t realise hope was a gift until I became a mum. My little boy taught me many things and that was one of them Claire, Jacob’s mum
  • Children like Lucy don’t get the opportunity to go to sleepovers or to their friends for tea, so the interaction she has at the hospice is priceless. Heather, Lucy’s mum
  • Renee loves going to The Treehouse, but it’s great that care staff are also able to visit us at home too. Stacy, Renee’s mum
  • EACH helps us to create lovely memories and has played an important part in all of our lives, not just Lucy’s. Heather, Lucy’s mum
  • When we first heard about the hospice we were apprehensive because we didn’t know what to expect. When we got there we realised it was a lovely place where Renee would be well looked after, and we would be able to have a much-needed break. Stacy, Renee’s mum
  • I really love going to the hospice. I’ve made friends there and get to do loads of fun stuff. Renee
  • EACH helped us with coping mechanisms and special ways of remembering Stanley. Brad, Stanley's Dad
  • I can’t imagine what it would have been like. Nobody should have to, every family should be offered the support we were, and are still getting Claire, Jacob’s mum
  • The play specialists are excellent and I also get inspiration from the activities they organise. Heather, Lucy’s mum
