“It’s going to be great fun, a real challenge for participants and an amazing opportunity to enjoy an incredible, exhilarating experience” – fundraisers have the chance to abseil 45 feet down one of the most iconic buildings in Norwich

Daredevil fundraisers have the chance to hit new heights and show their support for charity. East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is organising its next Norwich abseil event next March.

Plucky participants have the chance to abseil 45 feet down one of the city’s most iconic buildings – The Forum. All money raised from sign-ups and sponsorship will go to EACH, which has three bases, including The Nook, in Framingham Earl.

The Norwich abseil, open to adults and children aged 14 and over, is taking place on Sunday, 24th March.

“We’re very excited to be bringing back our abseil at The Forum,” said EACH Events Fundraiser Emma Cook.

“It’s going to be great fun, a real challenge for participants and an amazing opportunity to enjoy an incredible, exhilarating experience – something to remember forever.

“It’ll help raise vital funds for our charity and my advice would be to book up and confirm your place as soon as possible. Bring your family and friends along to support you or why not sign up as a team.”

EACH held an abseil at The Forum in 2017, 2018 and 2019, before Covid hit. In total, 225 people took part, raising more than £32,000. Participants can select a one-hour time slot between 10am and 4pm.

Entry is normally £20 but an early-bird discount rate of £15 is available until the end of November. Each abseiler is asked to commit to raising sponsorship of £100.

Book now to confirm your place by heading here.

Any under-18s must be accompanied by an over-18 spectator and full training will be provided by Howard Adventure. There is no weight limit but the harness must fit correctly. The maximum harness sizes are 60” (waist) and 38” (leg).
