Electronic journals and Athens password

NHS Evidence provides access to over 2,000 electronic journals. All health care staff in the NHS, Social Care and Voluntary sectors can access these resources with an Athens password. Click here to see the journals available to you.

If you don’t have an athens password, details are provided below on how to apply for one. All hospice staff who have direct contact with, and provide care, to NHS patients are eligible for an NHS Athens password, unfortunately this does not apply tomanagement and administrative staff working in hospices.

On the Athens Registration page, under "Your Organisation" select the 2nd option of "Select your organisation by region/area" Click on the drop down list.

• For the Region - Select South East Coast SHA
• For the Area - Select NHS Kent, Surrey & Sussex
• For the Trust - Select Non-NHS healthcare staff based in Kent

For staff at Demelza Hospice, South Eltham
On the Athens registration page, under "Your Organisation" select the 2nd option of "Select your organisation by region/area" Click on the drop down list.

• For the Region - Select London SHA
• For the Area - Select NHS South East London
• For the Trust - Select Non-NHS healthcare staff based in Greenwich"
