Hospice and Office

  • Administration

Are you confident with a computer and proficient with paperwork?
Wherever you are placed, it will mean working in a friendly team where you are supported and appreciated.

Time Commitment: Half a day a week ~ weekday ~ daytime only.

  • Drivers for Hospice Vehicles

Drivers are needed at all 3 Hospices and at the CDC in Thetford.
The hospices all have their own fleet of vehicles and volunteers are needed for supermarket runs, deliveries between the 3 sites, sibling activity days and to the charity shops. A full clean driving licence is required.

Time commitment: This will vary on the amount of time that you are willing to volunteer for - from a couple of hours a week upwards depending on the drive undertaken. Most driving opportunities will need to take place on weekdays.

  • Gardening

Calling all green fingers! All 3 hospices have lovely gardens which provide a welcoming and tranquil environment for the children and their families. However these wonderful gardens do need maintaining!

You don’t have to be an expert to get involved - but you will need to like gardening!

The necessary tools and training will be provided.

Time commitment: Weekdays or weekends to suit, although weekends may not be practical at Quidenham Hospice.

  • Housekeeping (Milton only)

They always say cleaning for someone else is much more enjoyable than doing your own. This is certainly the case if you choose to volunteer as part of our housekeeping team! You will assist staff with domestic tasks around the hospice including bed making, cleaning, making tea/coffee etc.

Time Commitment: Half a day a week - days needed are Monday, Wednesday or Friday 9am to 12pm. Deep Clean help is needed once a month on Wednesdays.

  • Kitchen (Quidenham only)

Quidenham Children’s Hospice are looking for volunteers to assist the domestic team with kitchen duties in the evenings and weekends.
Example duties would include clearing and setting up tables, washing dishes, loading dish washer, cleaning toys and laundry duties. This is a regular role and commitment and reliability is vital.
Help is needed in the evenings and at weekends and days may vary depending on the rota - but this would be known in advance.

  • Maintenance/Odd Jobs

Our properties require some maintenance on an occasional basis. Are you experienced in this area? If so, then you could be a suitable maintenance volunteer.

Time commitment: Variable.
