24 Aug 09: Skydive for EACH!

24th August 2009

Daredevils from across East Anglia are being encouraged to take to the skies next month to turn their passion for extreme sports into much-needed funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

At Old Buckenham Airfield on Saturday September 19th, thrill-seekers who have signed-up to complete a skydive in aid of EACH will not only be able to experience freefall from 12,000ft reaching speeds of 120mph but also have the satisfaction of knowing they are raising vital funds for charity.

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) provides care and support for life-threatened children and their families in their own homes, as well as at the charity’s hospices based at Quidenham, Ipswich and Milton in Cambridge.

This year it is anticipated it will cost about £5.8 million to run all 3 hospice services - approximately 72% of this is required from voluntary donations.

A number of people have already signed up for the day, including the inspirational Natasha Storey, of Sparrow Close, Bradwell, who has used the hospice services at Quidenham in the past, and has undergone a heart and lung transplant as well as battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
