30 Sept 09: N&P's support

30th September 2009

Staff from Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P) have rolled up their sleeves to help East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Last week, volunteers from N&P’s offices at Lynch Wood in Peterborough visited the charity’s Milton hospice near Cambridge to help out with garden maintenance in preparation for the hospice’s memory day. This is where family members visit the hospice to remember their child, along with other bereaved families that EACH support.

Meanwhile, back at N&P’s offices in Peterborough, staff also held an unwanted items collection and a book sale to raise funds for EACH.

Marianne Morris, a member of N&P’s executive support team, said: "It’s lovely to be able to be given the time out of work to come and help such a worthwhile cause.

"We have supported EACH for a number of years and it’s great to come and volunteer for the charity, it’s very enjoyable and rewarding."

Liz Brinsdon, EACH corporate fundraiser, said: "Norwich and Peterborough has been supporting EACH as its charity of the year since 2007, and as well as raising huge amounts in donations, it also support us in a number of other ways too.

"We're so grateful for its ongoing support, which helps us to continue our work supporting life-threatened children and their families across the region."

EACH provides care and support for life-threatened children and their families in their own homes, as well as at the charity’s hospices based at Milton, Quidenham in Norfolk, and Ipswich in Suffolk, which also serves North Essex.
