11 Sept 09: Layer Marney Charity Day

11th September 2009

The stunning backdrop of Layer Marney Tower and gardens in Colchester will host a charity day to benefit East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

On Sunday September 27th, all monies taken from ticket sales at Layer Marney Tower will be split between EACH and St John Ambulance.

EACH's Colchester Friends group will be on hand to serve refreshments and homemade cakes as well as selling homemade jams, chutneys, handicrafts and Christmas cards.

EACH provides care and support for life-threatened children and their families in their own homes, as well as at the charity’s hospices based at Ipswich in Suffolk, Quidenham in Norfolk and Milton in Cambridgeshire.

This year it is anticipated that it will cost around £5.8 million to run all 3 hospice services - approximately 72% of this is required from voluntary donations.
