Time is running out to sign-up for the Kings Lynn Santa Run in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
This year’s Kings Lynn Santa Run, which takes place at 11am on Sunday December 6, was launched last month by Norwich City Football Club legend Gary Doherty, who is urging people to sign-up and raise funds for the charity.
Gary Doherty is no stranger to EACH, as he and fellow player Wes Hoolahan visited the Quidenham hospice earlier this year.
And on Saturday Norwich City players wore shirts bearing the EACH logo at their home game against Tranmere Rovers as part of the Community Chest Challenge run by Aviva and Norwich City FC.
EACH provides care and support for life-threatened children and their families in their own homes, as well as at the charity’s hospices based at Ipswich in Suffolk, which also serves North Essex, Quidenham in Norfolk and Milton in Cambridgeshire.
Some children may only have a short time to live, perhaps only weeks or months, others may reach early adulthood but the EACH aim is always the same – to enhance their quality of life and support their family.
This year it is anticipated that it will cost around £5.8 million to run all three of our hospice services - approximately 72% of this is required from voluntary donations.
The Kings Lynn Santa Run will follow a 2km route - starting and finishing under the Old Sunway Bridge on Broad Street.
It is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs so absolutely anyone can take part in what will be the Kings Lynn Christmas event of the year.
This year we are giving you the option to supply your own Santa suit if you wish, for a reduced entry fee.
Adult entry (aged 14 and over) with suit - £10.00, no suit - £8.50. Child entry (aged 13 and under) includes Santa hat - £5.00.
