A lavish Suffolk ball which saw guests entertained with fine food, live music and fireworks, has raised an impressive £30,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The Brightwell Ball, which was organised by Guy and Julie Nicholls of Brightwell Hall Farm, and James and Phillipa Taylor of TMJ Interiors, was staged at Brightwell Hall Farm on July 4 this year and attended by some 300 guests.
Guests were also entertained by a magician, casino, auction and disco and a similar ball which was hosted at Tostock two years ago, raised a staggering £50,000 for EACH, bringing the combined fundraising total to a staggering £80,000.
Julie Nicholls said: "We are absolutely delighted with the success of the Brightwell Ball and would like to thank everyone who attended to help us raise an impressive £30,000 for EACH."
James Taylor said: "We wanted to stage a ball which would help EACH, as they do such an amazing job, and most of their funds are raised from voluntary donations."
Carl Brooks, EACH corporate fundraiser, said: "We can’t thank Guy, Julie, James and Phillipa enough for all their hard work in organising the Brightwell Ball. Their fundraising efforts means EACH can continue to deliver the care and support which is vital to many life-threatened children and their families across the region."
EACH provides care and support for life-threatened children and their families in their own homes, as well as at the charity’s hospices based at Ipswich in Suffolk, which also serves North Essex, Quidenham in Norfolk and Milton in Cambridgeshire.
Some children may only have a short time to live, perhaps only weeks or months, others may reach early adulthood but the EACH aim is always the same – to enhance their quality of life and support their family.
This year it is anticipated that it will cost about £5.8 million to run all three of our hospice services - approximately 72 per cent of this is required from voluntary donations.
