4 Nov 09: Autograph Auction

4th November 2009

Celebrities including Keira Knightley, Sir Terry Wogan, Ewan McGregor and Gordon Ramsey will all be making an appearance at Eye Community Centre next weekend to raise vital funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The celebrities themselves will not be there, but their signed photos will be, as part of the Charity Autograph Auction organised by the EACH Diss Friends Group.

Amongst the hundreds of signed celebrity photos up for grabs at the auction, there are some real gems to be had, including a Sir Ian McKellen photo from Lord of The Rings, Bill Bryson books, a Norwich City football shirt, a Franz Ferdinand vinyl record and a Paul Weller CD.

And as well as photos from Keira Knightley, Sir Terry Wogan, Ewan McGregor and Gordon Ramsey, there will also be signed photos of Matt Lucas, Michael Ball, Harry Enfield, Bill Odie, Tess Daly, Alan Titchmarsh, Emma Thompson and Joan Collins to name but a few.

Pauline Manson, of Diss Friends Group, said: "I would encourage as many people as possible to come and support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices by attending the Celebrity Autograph Auction.

"It’s a great local charity, which we are proud to support, and we hope people will come along to this great event, pick up some really good bargains and raise funds too."

Danielle Clarke, EACH community fundraising co-ordinator for South Norfolk and Norwich, said: "We have been over-whelmed by the amount of support we have received from celebrities and we are really looking forward to seeing the lots go under the hammer to raise funds for EACH."

The Charity Autograph Auction, hosted by the EACH Diss Friends Group, will take place on Saturday November 7, at Eye Community Centre, near Diss.

Viewing is from 10am and the auction starts at 1pm. Entry is free and tickets are not required, but if you do register before the day you get a free bacon roll.

Online and postal bids are accepted and for more information contact Danielle (tel: 01953 715559) or Pauline (tel: 01379 650938).
