An amateur dramatics group from Kimbolton are hoping their pantomime performances will raise much-needed funds for a local children’s hospice.
Melodramatics will stage their own adaptation of Sleeping Beauty at the end of this month and money raised through tickets sales will be donated to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices- The charity cares and supports life-threatened children and their families across Cambridgeshire from their hospice in Milton.
The Melodramatics group has already donated £400 to the charity and the cast and crew are hoping to raise even more through their pantomime performances. The group stages an annual pantomime, which is written by members of the cast, and this year the show is directed by Di Clark and produced by Anne-Marie King.
Richard boyd, Melodramatics Chairman, said: “We think it’s very important to support local charities, which is why we have chosen EACH to benefit from our show. The charity does such great work, so we wanted to recognise this.
“This really is a show for all the family, so why not come along and have fun whilst raising vital funds for an incredibly important charity.”
Beccy Turner, EACH Community Fundraiser said: “We are delighted that Melodramatics has decided to support EACH and we would like to thank them dearly for their efforts.”
The Melodramatics’ production of Sleeping Beauty will be staged at Mandeville Hall in Kimbolton from Wednesday March 2- Saturday March 5.
