22.Nov.10: Toe Dip

22nd October 2010

Dedicated toe-dippers have raised £3,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s

Beachgoers who dared to dip their toe into the sea at Lowestoft this summer have raised thousands of pounds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Zoiyar Cole and Janet Ellis, both of Pakefield, held their annual Toe Dip in aid of EACH on June 6 at Claremont Pier, Lowestoft. People dipped their toe and were sponsored to do so.

This is the third year they have done the Toe Dip and all three events have raised a staggering £16,000 for EACH.

Zoiyar, who volunteers at the EACH Lowestoft shop as well as organising the toe dip said: “It was a great day and I would like to thank everyone who took part and raised money for EACH.”

Jessica Hiscocks, Community Fundraising Co-ordinator for North Norfolk and Norwich, said: “Zoiyar and Janet work so hard in raising funds for EACH and so many other charities each year. They're a remarkable pair and to know the Toe Dip has raised another £3,000 for EACH is absolutely wonderful!"
