Strictly Come Dancing fans will be swept off their feet this May, when they get the opportunity to take to the dancefloor with their favourite performers in the name of charity.
The Charity May Ball, which will take place at the The Grand Dining Hall at Royal Hospital School in Holbrook, will feature performances by Robin Windsor and Kristina Rihanoff from the hit BBC TV show Strictly Come Dancing.
The event is in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), and not only will guests be able to watch Robin and Kristina sachay across the dancefloor, but there will also be an auction where people can bid to win a dance with them too!
Robin Windsor grew up in Ipswich and began dancing at Ipswich School of Dance from the age of three. He entered countless competitions throughout his youth and at the age of 15, moved to London to pursue his dancing career. Robin danced competitively until he was 20-years-old, before retiring to perform in the hit show ‘Burn the Floor’ which toured for nine years and saw him travel the world.
Robert Fisher, who is the event organiser, is also the Health and Safety Officer for Barnes Construction which has worked on the Treehouse Appeal project.
Robert said: “This will be a glamourous event, with fantastic dancing performed in a great venue. We are hoping to sell more than 300 tickets.
“This will be a unique opportunity for all who attend. They’ll able to enjoy Robin and Kristina’s performances and if they’re lucky- win a dance with them too.
“EACH is such an important cause, and we are glad to be able to support the charity with The Charity May Ball.”
The Charity May Ball takes place on Saturday May 14 and tickets are priced at £65. For tickets or further information contact: Robert Fisher: 01473 415321, Pam Davis: 07713 095355 or Sonia Clarke: 07947 185871.
The Treehouse Appeal £3m target has recently been reached. However, EACH needs to raise £4 million in donations this year to deliver their services across East Anglia, so funds raised from the ball will allow vital care and support to be delivered at the new hospice.
